News: Rock N Roll Hall of Fame class of 2009 announced

The class of 2009 has been announced for the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. The biggest name on the list of honorees is Metallica. This is Metallica's first year of eligibility since their debut album Kill 'Em All celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.
In 2007, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were inducted into the Hall opening the door for other rap acts to follow. In a predictable twist, Run-D.M.C. becomes the second hip hop group elected to the Hall. Their collaboration with Aerosmith on "Walk This Way" is largely seen as resurrecting Aerosmith's career and taking hip hop to the suburban market where it now thrives.
Cleveland-native, Bobby Womack will be inducted. Womack started his career as the lead singer of his family musical group the Valentino’s, and as Sam Cooke’s backing guitarist. As a singer he is most notable for the hits “Lookin For a Love”, “That’s The Way I Feel About Cha”, “Woman’s Gotta Have It”, Harry Hippie”, Across 110th Street” and his 1980s hit “If You Think You’re Lonely Now”.
The hall, also, welcomes in Jeff Beck. Jeff Beck is one of the three noted guitarists to have recorded with the band The Yardbirds. Rolling Stone ranked him as one of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time." Jeff Beck's solo output is largely instrumental.
The final inductee is Little Anthony & The Imperials. Little Anthony is most known for their debut single “Tears on My Pillow” and their consequential singles “I’m On the Outside (Looking In)" and “Goin’ Out of My Head.” The band is noted for lead-singer Jerome Anthony “Little Anthony” Gourdine's high-pitched falsetto voice.
2009 was supposed to be the year that the Stooges finally got their due into the hall. With the death of Ron Asheton last week, people felt it was an almost certainty the Stooges would get in. The band fell short. Other hopefuls that fell short this year were War and Chic.
Congratulations to all the inducted and better luck next year to those who didn't quite make it.

Hey,

Great post, but I was wondering if you could repost the Bobby Womack song. Thanks.
