Gza: Pro Tools The sixth solo album by Wu-Tang Clan's Gza sees him step away from the murky style of 2005's GrandMasters and embrace a more oddball style. The album kicks off with "Pencils". Produced by Mathematics, it is reminiscent of a Kanye beat and contains awesome verses from Masta Killa and Rza. Rza also produces two tracks on the album, including "Paper Plates". "Paper Plates" continues the beef between Gza and G-Unit. In the song, Gza refers to 50 Cents music as "disposable" like paper plates. Perhaps one of the more skillfully done tracks against G-Unit, "Paper Plates" is surely a standout track on Pro Tools. There are several occasions when the minimalist production is followed by a monotone flow from Gza making the tracks lackluster at best. For those expecting another Liquid Swords or Beneath the Surface will surely be disappointed, but for Wu-Tang fans this has more of a classic Wu feel than 8 Diagrams did. Rating: 7.7/10 MP3: Gza feat. Rza and Masta Killa "Pencils" Buy: iTunes, Insound
