Three 6 Mafia: Last 2 Walk Last 2 Walk is the ninth studio album by Memphis rap duo, Three 6 Mafia. The album was originally scheduled for release on May 6th, 2007 but was ultimately pushed back until to mid-2008 in part to the group's lax work ethic and their MTV reality series, Adventures in Hollyhood. The single from the album was "Doe Boy Fresh" which was released in January of 2007, in the year and a half since its release the song was eventually cut from the album. The next single was "Like Money" which featured the Game. That track was also ultimately cut from the album. The first single from Last 2 Walk that actually appears on Last 2 Walk is "I'd Rather". With no sense of irony at all, the song features a repetitive chorus of "I love having sex but I'd rather get some head". The current single from the album is "Lolli Lolli (Pop that Body)". Though, "Lolli Lolli" does not appear on the official version of the album, it is listed as a bonus track at the very end of the album. Despite all of that I do still have a lot of love for Three 6 Mafia. Some people accused Three 6 of selling out with their last album Most Known Unknown, which was their highest selling album of their career. The fact is Juicy J and DJ Paul are two of the best producers in the game. They are known for complex, menacing beats (see "Stay Fly" or "Poppin My Collar") Last year, they showed their versatility producing the smash hit "International Players Anthem" by UGK feat Outkast. On Last 2 Walk the production is on point. The tracks are filled with those dirty South drums, piano riffs, and strings. All the tracks on the album are produced by Three 6 Mafia except for "That's Right" which is produced by Akon, "I'd Rather" which is produced by DJ Montay, and "My Own Way". "My Own Way" is produced by Dead Executives and features Good Charlotte, oddly enough. The song just features Good Charlotte on vocals doing the chorus, but its still a little bizarre to hear. In the end, Last 2 Walk is definitely not as commercial friendly as Most Known Unknown but it's still a pretty good album. I wish Three 6 would stop living by the motto quantity over quality though. The album contains 22 songs when you take into account the bonus tracks. Four of those tracks are intros or self-promotion and about eight of those tracks feel like filler.
