Nas: The Nigger Tape Nas teams up with mixtape DJ and producer Green Lantern to release this mixtape. The mixtape features remixes, exclusives and cut tracks from Nas' yet-to-be-released ninth studio album. DJ Green Lantern is one of the best mixtape DJs out there. Teaming up with Nas to produce this mixtape is sure to raise his profile even higher. The mixtape features tracks produced by DJ Khalil, DJ Toomp, Cool & Dre, Stic Man of Dead Prez, and Green Lantern himself. The album also features Nas' newest street single "Hero" which is produced by Polow da Don. Nas steps up to the plate delivering some of his most compelling material in years on this mixtape. "Black President" utilizes a Tupac sample to discuss the prospect of Barack Obama being elected president. "Cops Keep Firing" deals with the acquittal of the police officer in the Sean Bell case. The mixtape also includes the official remix of "Be a Nigger Too" featuring Dante Hawkins and the original version of "Surviving the Times". Its important to remember that mixtapes are just promotional releases. If this is any indication of what Nas' ninth studio album is going to feature, he might finally top Illmatic because this is one of the best mixtapes I've heard in a long while. Rating: 7.8/10 MP3: Nas "Esco Let's Go"
