Music in Advertising: Andy Kim "Rock Me Gently"

As a marketing graduate and a music blogger I've toying with doing this for a while. This is the inaugural "Music in Advertising" post. Canadian songster Andy Kim wrote "Rock Me Gently" which hit number 1 in 1974. It was his only number one hit. Jeep uses the song in their 'Pouring In' commercial for Jeep Liberty commercial. In this instance the song is the focal point of the commercial. The point of the commercial is hazy at best. The animals flying and falling in through the moon roof nicely highlights that particular feature of the vehicle without saying it outright. Overall as a commercial I think its poor at best. Perhaps the person getting the most of the commercial is Andy Kim who was probably never searched on google until the last two months that the commercial has been airing.
